Coffee and Biscuits and Waffles – Oh My!

Now, this was a place that we had no memory of ever having been to. As I mentioned though, it was starred on our map. It was a mystery to be solved. Had we researched it before meaning to go? Had we planned on meeting someone there and then the plans fell through? Neither of us had any idea – which is pretty rare between the two of our brains. So, in order to eliminate the mystery and perhaps jog one of our memories we decided to go – especially since it was only a short drive from the State Fair Campground and because the Google Review pictures looked delicious!

The coffee shop sits just on the edge of the NC State campus. Thankfully, classes were out for the summer and so we actually snagged a street parking spot just across from the cafe. It was busy enough with lots of single laptop workers and a smattering of duos. Being in the South and not having yet gotten a proper biscuit, this was our perfect opportunity. Their homemade drop biscuits were yummy! Especially in the bacon-egg-cheese form – slightly sweet and not overly dense, but definitely filling. We also tried the iced coffee which was sufficiently strong and a beautiful caramel color as well as one of their specialty waffles. We had never had a waffle like these before! Dymaxion ordered a banana and Nutella waffle. The banana was baked into the waffle and it had a crisp sugary outside and was then absolutely smothered in Nutella.  It put even Dymaxion – the Nutella Prince – over the edge! We needed to walk some of the bready goodness off afterwards, so we took a stroll through campus to find some fun Wolfpack gear at the Student Union. Stickers and headphones and notebooks – let’s go!
